The package contains 1 tablet. Also known as “the morning after pill”, the NorLevo emergency contraceptive pill is most effective when taken as soon as possible after sex, preferably within 12 hours and no longer than 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sexual intercourse or failure of a contraceptive method. It is more effective when you take it as soon as possible after unprotected sex. Norlevo can only prevent you becoming pregnant if you take it within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Please note that Norlevo does not work if you are already pregnant and does not stop a pregnancy.
Additionally, the emergency contraceptive pill is less effective than other birth control methods (e.g. daily birth control pills) and therefore is intended to be used in emergency situations such as unexpected sex without contraceptive use, a broken condom, or rape.
